We are searching for a Host Manager for the Byron Bay Hostel to join the team as an operational leader across the business. High Steet HR is supporting the search for the right person

You will report into the General Manager and hold leadership responsibilities across all operational areas of the Hostel. In your role this will include:

- Managing the arrival and check out process
- Creating a memorable and personable, full stay experience for each and every guest
- Training and coaching employees in service, transactional processes, safe work practices
- Financial reporting of operational information necessary to maintain and improve business levels
- Onboarding new employees and managing areas for performance improvement
- Ensuring compliance with laws including fire, noise, hygiene and environment as it relates to Byron Shire Council requirements
- Booking accommodation, tours, experiences for your guests
- Work and lead across departments such as front office, housekeeping, food and beverage
- Take lead of the operation in the absence of then General Manager
- Collaboration with the General Manager on events, peak period strategy and creation of new experiences for guests today and everyday there after
- Champion and implement sustainable practices to reduce impact on the Byron Bay environment

To be the next Host Manager you will need to have a leadership experience at a senior supervisor/ head of department level or above in front office, housekeeping and food and beverage departments within hostels or accommodation-full service hotels.

Leadership of teams of small to medium teams will be key to your success and having lead multiple department teams simultaneously will be of advantage.

Salary on offer will be within a range of $70,000 to $75,000 annually plus superannuation.

This is your opportunity to be part of LACo in its formative years. Already, the company has invested in multi-million dollar product refurbishments and has several new hostels in the pipeline set to open within 12 months.
