An exciting opportunity has become available to join this well-known and progressive Federal Government department in their well-established people support rehabilitation team.

**Your new role**

Your new role as an APS6 Rehabilitation Case Manager will see you operate with limited direction. This role provides specialist advise in relation to compensation and injury prevention/management principle, procedures, and processes. You will require proven experience in arranging and coordinating complex cases and return to work strategies by:

- Engaging and managing a workplace rehabilitation provider
- Effectivity engaging, managing, and building relationships with diverse groups of people
- Coordinate fitness for duty and invalidity assessments
- Assisting and guiding employees through claim process
- Develop and coordinate return to work plans
- Preparing correspondence for reports and submissions.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Along with your experience working in rehabilitation case management, you will have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with diverse groups of stakeholders ensuring consistency in approaches and delivery in a changing environment. In addition to the above you will also have:

- Certificate IV in Government (Injury Management)
- Comprehensive understanding of legislation such as the Safety, Rehabilitation & Compensation Act (1988), Commonwealth Work Health & Safety Act (2011), Privacy Act, Disability Discrimination Act (1992) and leave, superannuation, and employment related provisions of the Public Service Act etc
- Comcare’s rehabilitation model, compensation criteria and Customer Information System (CIS)
- Well-developed organisation and time management skills
- Manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills to deal with complete and sensitive matters
- Highly developed investigation and evaluation of information to guide outcomes
