**About the role**

Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Community Development Program within ALPA’s community Services division and oversee the daily operations, strategic direction, employment consultancy and the coordination of activities of the Milingimbi CDP Site.

The objective of the role is to develop and lead a team which enables CDP participants and other Milingimbi community members to improve their quality of life by facilitating culturally appropriate opportunities for building skills, gaining employment, and reducing barriers to participation.

**Responsibilities**
- Operationalize and implement a locally tailored CDP program based on comprehensive community consultation
- Support staff to design and implement, with the support of the community, engaging and diverse activities for participants.
- Support participants, families and employers in successful transition of participants into the workforce and provide ongoing support.
- Ensure all activities and program elements take into account individual participants choices and interests
- Lead and coach teams within the Milingimbi site.
- Undertake all required administration to support the development and delivery of CDP activities
- Ensure that key performance measures are addressed, and that systems and processes are in place to capture and communicate performance
- Develop and maintain positive relationships and networks within ALPA communities to increase the opportunities available for CDP participants

**Skills and Experience**
- Qualification in Community Development, Human Services, Social Work or Employment Services is highly desirable
- Previous experience working as an Employment Consultant, Activities Coordinator, Site Manager or equivalent in the Community Development Program system
- Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels, language abilities, and ethnic origin.
- Previous experience working with Aboriginal people in a remote location is highly desirable
