About Us

The Student Journey Services portfolio embeds the Future Student Team, Outreach Team, Student Enquiry and Student Transition functions, to inspire, inform, recruit, convert, support and transition enabling, undergraduate and postgraduate students to study at Murdoch University. We seek understanding of the diversity of student journeys and place the student at the centre of our operations.

The Roles

Located in the Student Journey Services portfolio within the Student and Library Services Directorate, these positions are focused on delivering exceptional customer service across a wide range of future, new and current student enquiries related to course selection, admissions, and course enrolments through to graduation. The Student Enquiry Officer roles will have a current student support, retention, and transactions remit.

These positions will facilitate counter transactions for students and staff, respond to Tier 1 enquiries and case manage more complex Tier 2 enquiries as required, and will provide supervision, training and support to the Team Assistants for counter transaction functions and enquiry response.

Please note, future appointments may be made from this pool, where applicants are deemed as being suitably qualified for that new position. We will contact you, should such an opportunity arise.

There are roles available at the South Street Campus and Mandurah Campus in both full-time and part-time capacities.

What you’ll bring to this role
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree level qualification, and / or equivalent and relevant experience.
- A desire and ability to provide friendly ‘over the counter’ customer service.
- Highly effective communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, and the demonstrated ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with staff at all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, assume responsibility for tasks and projects and to resolve problems.
- Demonstrated high level of computer literacy and proficiency in the production of high-level work using various software packages, with the ability to learn and adapt to new digital programs and packages as appropriate.
- Ability to work in a team environment, provide support and leadership to others, and flexibility to undertake a diverse range of tasks.
- Ability to deal with a wide range of callers in a professional and engaging manner.
- Ability to influence and convert prospects into student enrolments whilst displaying a high level of discretion whilst taking confidential information.
