**About the role**
We are seeking an experienced Credit Recoveries Specialist to join our Customer Operations team in Melbourne. This position reports to the Manager of Credit Operations and is offered as a 12-month max term contract. In this role, you will manage a $40 million portfolio of final debts (non-active status) and handle closed treatments, Mercantile referrals, legal proceedings, insolvency cases, and bad debt recovery.
You will also oversee vendors in key areas of the collections cycle, focusing on contract negotiations, tender management, and performance oversight.

**What you'll do**
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and third-party vendors while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Champion challenges with vendors and set performance targets, tracking their progress effectively.
- Liaise with the offshore team for administrative tasks and high-risk portfolio management.
- Ensure timely completion of regulatory reporting and work towards reducing the doubtful debt provision.
- Manage high balance closed accounts in collaboration with external and internal legal partners.
**Your experience**
- Strong background in credit recovery, demonstrating effective management of debt recovery processes.
- Proven operational experience in customer service or credit environments, showcasing robust credit skills.
- Excellent relationship and vendor management capabilities, successfully collaborating with third-party partners.
- Thorough understanding of credit and privacy regulations, ensuring compliance across all activities.
- Ability to thrive under tight deadlines while efficiently managing high-balance closed accounts and administrative tasks.
