A vacancy exists for an Assistive Technologies Refurbishment and Repair Technician, based in Thomastown. This position would suit those with electro-mechanical/electronics skills. The successful applicant will be further trained in the necessary skills to define, diagnose, conduct basic repairs and refurbish specialised Assistive Technologies equipment in the warehouse. The position involves assessing and cleaning and servicing equipment prior to redeployment to a client. This equipment is predominately used throughout the community in aged care, rehabilitation and for supporting the disabled.

Responsibilities include the basic use of computer based systems for tracking and maintaining information on a large number of items of equipment, general warehousing duties, cleaning equipment and providing reliable repairs, refurbishment and testing of equipment.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Mechanical repairs knowledge;
- The ability to lift and move equipment (with appropriate lifting aids);
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and other asset management database literacy;
- A current driver's licence;
- Excellent verbal communication skills;
- An organised, pro-active approach to work; the ability to prioritise tasks;
- A friendly and caring approach.

A fork-lift licence, current first aid certificate and electrical repair knowledge would be advantageous but not required.

Training will be provided, together with all necessary tools.

Examples of assistive technology includes powered and manual mobility aids (such as wheelchairs and electric scooters), hospital beds and operating tables, patient lifting equipment, alternating air mattress systems and patient transport and care equipment.

A base salary, including the benefits of salary packaging, will be offered, dependent on relevant or similar industry experience.
