As one of Australia's largest super funds, the work you'll do with us makes a meaningful difference today and tomorrow for our members, the planet and for you.As the Principal Experience Designer, you are a senior design practitioner with expert knowledge in digital product design, responsible for strengthening the design-skills and operational practices of UniSuper’s Service & Experience Design team.

Your role will directly contribute to the successful implementation of UniSuper’s digital experiences, ensuring that your fellow designers are equipped to meet the demands of our strategic roadmap, with a core focus on shaping our processes to balance delivering at speed with creating valuable, high-quality experiences for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Development of design practice and continuous process improvement
- Facilitating regular feedback and insights gathering for design teams.
- Coordination of regular critiques, knowledge sharing sessions and benchmarking presentation to design and business stakeholders.
- Coordinate regular comms for designers and stakeholders, including updates on design processes, tools, and topics relevant to our domain.
- Participate in the planning and organising of business resources and stakeholders to define the appropriate approach to design activities required to meet user and business goals. Champion and advocate the value of design practices by providing creative thought leadership to the business community and engage stakeholders in processes and mechanisms that surface opportunities and problems.
- Design practice documentation and knowledge libraries
- Plan and implement design documentation repositories to; Implementation of front-door processes for stakeholders’ engagement, formalising means of enquiry and contribution to experience design backlogs and design systems.
- People leadership
- Support the recruitment of contract designers and lead orientation and onboarding
- Ongoing leadership and performance management of contract design staff and facilitate adherence to design direction and processes. Coach and mentor team members within the Marketing & Growth team by sharing knowledge, design skills and context to help up-skill others.
- Senior digital product design practitioner
- Lead design activities for cross-functional teams and business stakeholders, facilitating and contributing to co-design workshops to define problems and opportunities aligned to customer and member needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams, including business analysts, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to elicit and contextualise problems and requirements.
- Collaborate with our CX research team to source and analyse quantitative and qualitative research to synthesise meaningful insights and behavioural patterns.
- Develop thoughtful, user-centric digital solutions from concept & research phases, through to deployment and iteration using Figma and other collaboration tools.
- Produce and deliver designs deliverables for delivery handover, including wireframes, storyboards, user flows to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.

About You:

- Minimum 8 years’ experience in relevant digital experience design industry roles,
- You will be self-sufficient able to work with a level of autonomy, demonstrating a strong relationship with your craft and the ability to lead innovative change that delivers outcomes and value.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and facilitate workshops to elicit outcomes
- Adaptable and empathetic, you have a strong sense of self-awareness and is passionate
- Ability to engage and influence key stakeholders, developing business relationships and creating advocacy for our member’ needs and experience design as a practice.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines without compromising delivery of quality outcomes. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, as well as prior experience with large-scale enterprises, superannuation or financial services are well-regarded by not mandatory.
