Responsible to the Director of Physician Education, Division of Medicine.
- Provide support for the position of Chair Division of Medicine as required
- Undertake any additional duties as may be requested by the Director of Physician Education and the Chair, Division of Medicine
- Manage the Division of Medicine Registrars rosters
- Assist the Director of Physician Education and Medical Chair, Division of Medicine with
- management of counter-disaster plans and counter-disaster incidents at the Divisional level
- Regular direct input to the Director of Physician Training.
- Weekly meeting with registrars to discuss/monitor:

- Basic trainees environment
- Advanced trainees environment
- Quality of clinical service and the working environment within the Division of Medicine
- Disseminate information to registrars regarding issues with the:

- Division of Medicine
- RACP
- The University of Queensland
- Industrial issues
- and to encourage an environment of teaching and research
- Provide Basic Trainee education including:

- Term allocations
- Rostering for examination preparation
- Short and long case preparation
- Weekend practice examinations
- Oversight of tutorial program, rostering weekly clinical meeting
- Identification of Trainees with difficulties
- To be available on-call during working hours to provide assistance to medical registrars for any problems they encounter.
- Participation in Postgraduate Medical Education including:

- Organisation of the RACP clinical examination
- Participation in Registrar Term Allocations and yearly appointments
- Maintenance of database of outcomes of Basic Training at Division of Medicine PAH
- Follow hospital practices and demonstrate initiative aligned to ensuring the safest possible environment for patients and staff.
- Demonstrate an awareness of Queensland Health hospital policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in outcome reviews and audits and participate in organisational
- systems improvement, including committees.
- Report adverse incidents and near misses and actively participate in Hospital's Integrated Risk Management and Safety Program, including participation in Incident
- Monitoring System and Root Cause Analysis where appropriate
- Manage the performance appraisal and development of subordinate staff.
