We require an efficient part-time Payroll Officer to be responsible for all tasks involved in processing payroll.

**Hours**: approximately 22 hours per week, Monday (9am - 3:30pm), plus 4 hours each morning Tuesday to Friday, (for example 9:30am - 1:30pm).

**Wage range**:$55,000 - $75,000 plus super, pro rata, depending on level of qualifications and experience

**Fergys Food** is a supplier of quality baked goods to national clients, restaurants, hotels, local coffee shops, and special events throughout Melbourne. Our range includes fresh sour dough breads, pastries, cakes and slices.

The 140 employees at Fergys Food are a diverse team, with a variety of ages, cultural backgrounds and talents.

We require an organised part-time Payroll Officer to be responsible for all tasks involved in processing payroll. Duties include collecting and verifying Clocking Data, calculating wages, Overseeing Roster integrity and cost Centre allocation of hours. Other duties include data entry, onboarding new hires into our system, and assisting with the induction processes. You will also ensure we are in compliance with employment laws.

The role will start as a part-time casual position, offering an average of approximately 22 hours per week. The job will turn into a permanent part-time role once the trial period has been completed.

**You will need**:

- excellent numeracy skills
- a positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Solid Bookkeeping experience
- previous experience payroll
- knowledge of payroll software (we use “Clock On” Payroll)
- high attention to detail, high accuracy
- excellent organisational skills
- to be approachable, patient and kind, especially with staff who have English as a second language
- a clean police record

**The role entails**:

- collecting and verifying Clocked data from system
- Checking auto entering of employee information and payroll data into the system
- answering employees' questions and concerns regarding payroll
- calculating payable hours, penalty rates, bonuses, taxes, and deductions
- processing new employees, promotions, and terminations
- assisting with induction processes
- issuing payslip statements or formal letters detailing earnings and deductions
- issuing and delivering pay advices to employees via software system
- investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies
- maintaining and updating payroll records
- processing subsidies and Work Cover wages
- ensuring we are in compliance with employment laws
- preparing payroll cost centre reports
