Be part of a local government in a region known for its fine cuisines and exotic foods. Your role will be part of a team of 3 responsible to process the fortnightly payroll for 1100 employees.

**This 18 month maternity contract is a critical role, responsibilities will include**:

- End to end processing of the fortnightly payroll, accurately and timely
- Coordinate the processing of leave transactions and terminations in accordance with the EA / Award
- Contribute to and implement admin processes particularly those relating to payroll and the HRIS
- Running reports, ensuring statutory and legislative requirements are met
- Assist and support managers and stakeholders, including workplace grievances and investigations
- Consult and build trust with managers to maximise outcomes of related strategies and projects
- Interpretation of EAs and Awards as required
- Pursue professional development opportunities to stay up to date with changing legislation, trends and best practice payroll and HR developments

**To be considered for the role, your skills and experience will include**:

- Experience processing a fortnightly payroll of 1000+, on time and accurately
- Ability to work independently with strong judgement and decision making skills
- Accountability and strong communication skills are essential
- Solid interpersonal skills - ability to self manage priorities to achieve objectives
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast paced environment
- Good judgement and resilience with help with interruptions and problem solving
