Overview;
The Credit Lead is responsible and accountable for the supporting people performance and application processing in the Credit Operations team. The role is responsible for processing/decisioning applications and managing referrals/escalations from Credit Operations team members on a day to day basis, providing ongoing coaching and feedback throughout this process.
You will have the opportunity to influence the building of team culture and driving performance excellence, team capability, enhanced decision-making, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation and delivering exception service to our Dealer, Novated Leasing and Customer network.
Key Deliverables;
- Senior credit underwriter focused on application processing, decisioning, coaching, and compliance support.
- Supports People Managers and technical specialists, escalation point for credit decisions.
- Supports coaching and mentoring; less culture-building role.
- Coaches and mentors staff; supports onboarding and career development with People Managers.
- Supports QA checks and compliance adherence; acts as a point of contact for Credit Risk function.
- Uses senior DA for application decisions; escalation point in credit decisions.
- Limited direct involvement in data analytics.
- Supports People Managers and technical Specialists in people management and compliance.
- Supports key projects; less strategic leadership.
- Mainly application processing and coaching support.
Qualifications;
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field, preferred but not essential.
Experiences;
- Established Credit/Lending/Underwriting experience
- Strong understanding of credit principles, risk & financial analysis, and industry regulations
- Strong proven analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to evaluate underwriting quality against established standards
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
