This well known Federal Government department is seeking an APS6 Recalls Officer to join one of their branches that is Australia’s national vehicle standards regulator due to a recent restructure.

The branch works to enhance vehicle safety, emissions control and anti-theft protection to ensure the Australian vehicle fleet is safe and efficient.

**Your new role**

You will assist the team to undertake a range of activities in relation to the notification of recalls by suppliers, the monitoring of recall progress by suppliers and guidance relating to the recall. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

- Contributing to risk-based recall assurance and review activities using the department’s system and other programs including excel and PowerBI.
- Develop or contribute to recall policy and procedures.
- Analyse and assess information gathered as a result of supplier reporting against recalls and draft recommendations for decision makers.
- Liaise with industry and other government agencies.
- Engage with stakeholders including the public about recalls and the related policy and legalisation.
- Draft high quality written reports, publications, briefings and correspondence.
- Contribute to development, planning and monitoring of work processes for the team.

**What you'll need to succeed**

To be successful in this position, you will have previous experience in a similar position and the Federal Government. You will also have the ability to quickly learn and understand new systems and lead the development of briefing and guidance material for those systems, excellent communication skills both written and verbal and experience using Dynamics 365 or similar based systems, PowerBI and Microsoft Office suite.

To be considered for this role, you will need to be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance at the baseline level or higher.
