**Employment Opportunity**
Attorney-General's Department's Transparency Frameworks Section (TFS) administers the Lobbying Code of Conduct and Foreign Influence Transparency Scheme (the Scheme), established by the _Foreign Influence Transparency Scheme Act 2018_ (FITS Act). We are seeking to fill upcoming EL1 vacancies within TFS. Applicants should indicate which team(s) they are interested in working for.
The Casework Assistant Director will:
- lead a team undertake complex casework and consultation with stakeholders across government in support of the administering the FITS Act, assuring the quality of written work and effectively managing team priorities and resourcing
- guide staff in developing written advice to the Secretary on her ability to exercise enforcement powers under the FITS Act, preparation of briefs and Cabinet input
- identify and support other enforcement or compliance priorities under the Scheme
- oversee input to briefings and Cabinet requests in support of other frameworks that support the integrity of Australia's democratic system
- previous legal experience desirable but not required.
The lobbying/Outreach Assistant Director will:
- lead the development of Lobbying policy, performance reporting and the FITS annual report
- lead on Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Public Integrity and Anti-Corruption (PIAC) allocation and scrutiny
- develop innovative outreach products to raise awareness of the Code and the scheme
- supervise staff administering the Lobbying and FITS registers, including processing registrations, responding to public inbox queries, liaising with potential registrants and external stakeholders.
