**The Division**

The Greater Sydney Division is redefining integrated transport choices to improve the lives of customers and communities, making Greater Sydney a better place to live, work and play.

NSW is becoming more mobile and inter-connected than ever. The Planning and Programs division lead the planning, prioritisation and delivery of current and future investments across the network, through evidence-based decision making, supporting the changes required to translate Future Transport 2056 strategic objectives into customer and community outcomes across Greater Sydney.

**The opportunity**

Right now, we have an opportunity for a high-performing Roads Network Development Officer to join our Network Solutions (Eastern) team within the Planning and Programs branch. Based out the Parramatta office this role will see you contribute to the development of multi-modal road and safety road network projects, traffic and transport impact assessments while ensuring optimum performance and integration for Sydney’s arterial road (and active transport) network in line with defined strategies and objectives. The role will address the specific, integrated needs of freight, road-based public transport, pedestrians cyclists, and light vehicles.

You will proactively collaborate and interface with Planning and Program teams and other relevant stakeholders to ensure specific projects are developed in line with defined corridor strategies and address immediate to short-term network performance issues that have been identified and prioritised.
- Contribute to the examination and assessment of traffic management plans and provide expert advice on major road and road-related capital projects to TfNSW staff and other private and public bodies to ensure optimum traffic flow performance and network integration during construction and operation.
- Assist with the assessment and selection of project nominations and proposals to ensure the optimum solutions are fully developed to meet the objectives of integrated road transport management.
- Provide feedback accordingly in relation to programs and projects for media and ministerial enquiries and community response.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have tertiary qualifications in civil or traffic engineering or demonstrated relevant experience. We are looking for someone who can work independently and contribute effectively, in a supportive team environment whilst maintaining a high level of work ethic

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. You can build rapport and develop strong relationships across multiple sources, take end-to-end responsibility for a body of work, and manage expectations and deliverables. You will need to leverage these relationships to seek the appropriate advice and information required to inform your decisions, as well as negotiate outcomes and overcome challenges.

The home office for the role is based at Parramatta, and it is expected that you will work from this location at least two days per week. Transport for NSW offers flexible working arrangements and supports a balance of office and work-from-home options.

The role will suit someone with experience investigating and contributing to the development of traffic, safety and congestion programs, transport systems management and traffic engineering practice and traffic modelling. **Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is Grade 8 ($123,470 - $138,284) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
