What you’ll be doing

As the Oceania HSE Manager at Prysmian Group, you will be responsible for building and driving continual improvement of the health, safety, environment management culture, standards, systems and processes across the Prysmian business, and ensure they are being implemented and all legal and other requirements are identified and are being implemented.

You will provide hands on leadership, support and strategic direction to the business unit HSE team to ensure the team supports the organisation in the achievement of its HSE objectives.

Reporting to the Quality & HSE Director - OSEA Region and supported by the HSE Compliance & QA Coordinator and 2 HSE Officer & RTW Coordinators, you will keep abreast of industry trends on HSE regulation, ensure sites are escalating and managing incidents within specific time frames ensuring proactive business planning to these requirements.

This role is pivotal in ensuring that internal policies, procedures and other legal requirements are incorporated into training programs and applied into daily practice to cultivate a workplace safety culture across all levels of the business through coaching, training, and leadership

Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the site’s safety practices, ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards and rules, ensuring injuries, incidents, hazards and illnesses are reported immediately to create a safe, healthy and sustainable workplace.
- Partner with Manufacturing Manager, Warehouse and Logistics manager, site HSE and Quality Managers to deliver training relating to HSEQ.
- Monitor and report on training spending to meet budget requirement and conduct cost reduction activities.
- Contribute to building an Engagement and Enablement culture through implementing learning and development, and team problem solving initiatives.
- Support the Coordinators to review individual competency/skill gaps and coordinate development activities.
- Conduct training needs analysis
- Interact with the Frontline Operators, Leaders, and Managers to determine development priorities for front line team.
- Ensures that internal policies, procedures and other legal requirements are incorporated into training programs and applied into daily practice.

Who you are

You are a team player with the capability to lead in a fast paced environment. You have strong legislation understanding, strategic, change management, analytical and systems auditing skills. You have well-honed stakeholder management, including partnering while also holding others to account, and influencing, facilitation and communication skills.

With 10+ years relevant experience in HSE and exposure to multi-site manufacturing environments you have demonstrated achievements in driving a Safety Culture transformation.

With a passion for Health and Safety, you lead with purpose and understand the importance of managing quality, timelines, risk management, while pursuing cost savings. You are able to manage diverse groups of stakeholders effectively with best practice HSE skills.
