Responsible for assisting the operation and coordination of all emergency and disaster response services

The Salvation Army Emergency Services (SAES) supports our emergency workers including our volunteer & career fire fighters, State Emergency Services volunteers, Police and other state government agencies as well as assist those affected by disasters such as bush fires, floods and storms. We provide;

THE ROLE

Under the direction from the State Coordinator, the Team Leader - Cleaning & Warehousing position is responsible for assisting the operation and coordination of all emergency and disaster response services.

This includes fulfilling of contracts for services across the state and ensuring cleaning and maintainence of all mobile plant, equipment & vehicles to an exceptionally high standard and overseeing our warehouse and yard operations.

Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

- Under direction from the SEDM Coordinator assist in the operation and coordination of all emergency and disaster response services, including the fulfiliing of all contracts for services across the state.
- To provide leadership, direction and oversight to volunteers providing catering support to emergency incidents
- Building and maintaining relationships with Local & State Government Agencies, Major Sponsors and other equivalent stakeholders
- Assist in developing a team as a leading presence in the sector within the state to promote and advocate the needs of people seeking services from The Salvation Army and best practice service delivery.
- Assist the State Coordinator generally and participate in ensuring a harmonious and team friendly environment including assisting with on-call and after hour call outs as required
- Establish a suitable cleaning schedule for all mobile kitchen and other plant to ensure regular weekly cleaning activities are carried out with the assistance of staff & volunteers
- Assist with effecting general repairs or seeking appropriate trades to ensure equipment is repaired promptly and is operationally safe and ready to use.
- Establish a suitable cleaning schedule for all SAES Fleet vehicles to ensure all vehicles are maintained clean to a high standard at all times.
- Maintain warehouse and equipment in a clean, organised and operationally ready state at all times
- Assist with fulfilling all legal obligations and complying with all relevant WHS requirements.

HOURS

This is a full time position, ongoing.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE- Trade Qualification or background- Prior experience in operating mobile plant equipment- Ability to encourage and cooperate with others to achieve common goals- Acknowledgement and responsiveness to diversity of experiences, perspectives, values and beliefs- A current HR Drivers Licence- Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
