Working with peers and reporting to the Database Administration Manager in the Health Technology Solutions unit, the Principal Database Administrator will manage capacity, performance, availability, security and technology in the context of demanding service levels, supported by service management processes based on the ITIL framework.
- An experienced Principal Database Administrator with exposure to Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases, including architecture, governance and standards
- An excellent communicator with a proven track record of influencing stakeholders

**Key selection criteria**

**Technical expertise**
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server technologies - standard clustering, AAG, and Multi-master
- Knowledge of Oracle Database technologies including but not limited to eBusiness Application System Administration, Golden Gate, Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, Active Data Guard and ASM
- Knowledge of the administration of LINUX - RHEL and Oracle
- Knowledge of the administration of Microsoft Windows Operating systems
- Knowledge of Storage management systems, in particular HP3par
- Understanding of business continuity (DR) objectives and methods
- Understanding of the orchestration of repetitive tasks
- Experience in working with 3rd party service providers

**Qualifications**
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to Database Administration
- A strong working knowledge of ITIL process
