Downer Defence is the lead contractor providing Estate Maintenance and Operation Services (EMOS) for the Department of Defence in Queensland and Southern New South Wales. As lead contractor within the region, we deliver a suite of services to support Defence capability.?

We currently have an opportunity for a self-motivated** Facilities & Maintenance Manager **to join the team, located in Canberra. You will support overseeing the operational implementation of our Estate Upkeep maintenance services.

**About your role**
Reporting to the _Service Delivery Manager_, you will be responsible for the service delivery of tradespeople and subcontractors across the base services area sites as well as the preparation and scheduling of performance based and responsive maintenance works. You will support with the delivery of facilities maintenance services to Defence properties throughout the ACT region.

**About you**
- Extensive experience in a similar **Facilities & Maintenance **leadership role, ideally within the commercial building industry or industrial maintenance sector
- Ability to lead, support and mentor teams
- Trade qualifications in an Electrical, Mechanical, Building or Plumbing (essential)
- Experience and proven ability in the provision of advice to management, clients, tradespeople and subcontractors
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of statutory obligations, Codes of practice and Building Code of Australia
- Australian Driver’s licence (essential)
