About the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre
Founded 20 years ago, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum. We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being. We champion the rights of people seeking asylum and mobilise a community of compassion to create lasting social and policy change.

About The Role
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing communications and marketing strategies that strengthen the ASRC brand, meet financial goals, advocate for systemic change in support of people seeking asylum, and ensure clear and consistent communication across ASRC audiences.
This role is part-time, 0.8 FTE; it is a 9-month parental leave contract.

About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing or a related discipline (or the equivalent in experience in communications, fundraising or marketing roles)
- Proven experience in copywriting for organisational communications, marketing campaigns, advertising and media
- Proven experience managing campaign budgets
- Outstanding track record of success in planning and managing end-to-end marketing campaigns and communications
- A genuine passion for copywriting and managing effective marketing campaigns and communications that engage with a range of different audiences and deliver set outcomes.
- Ability to work independently and without supervision
- Exceptional project and time management skills with an ability to work across competing priorities.
- Sound knowledge of briefing, design and production processes (for media, digital and printed products).
- Experience with post-campaign analysis and report writing
- Experience in a fast-paced workplace delivering a high volume of communications strategies and tactics across varied channels.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to work within a culturally diverse team and audience
- Knowledge of the policy context of practice with asylum seekers visa categories/conditions, and the barriers faced by people seeking asylum in Australia

Lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia is highly desirable. Knowledge of policy and issues impacting on people seeking asylum in Australia as well as previous experience working with diverse populations, would also be advantageous.
