About the Role: (Fixed-Term, 0.8 FTE, 3 months Parental Leave Cover)
The Volunteer Coordinator - Community Food Services is responsible for the coordination of volunteers within the Foodbank and Community Meals programs. This includes recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers, ensuring adequate volunteer coverage across shifts, and making sure daily teams understand their responsibilities. The role also supports the broader operations of the Community Food Services team, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and effective environment that delivers vital food aid to people seeking asylum.

Key Accountabilities:

- Develop and maintain volunteer management systems for Community Food Services
- Plan and conduct volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and training to ensure consistent shift coverage
- Identify and deliver training needs for existing volunteers, including refresher sessions
- Review and respond to evolving volunteer requirements such as skills, experience, and availability
- Provide ongoing support including rostering, communication, and engagement
- Collaborate with the Community Food Operations Coordinator to uphold OH&S and Food Safety standards
- Work with ASRC’s Volunteer Engagement team to strengthen recruitment, retention, and member involvement
- Coordinate volunteer reward and recognition initiatives, including social and educational activities
- Facilitate volunteer feedback systems including evaluations and satisfaction surveys
- Support the daily operations of Community Food Services as required
- Carry out administration duties for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting purposes
