**Role description**:
Due to consistent growth in our team and the demands of our strong and growing pipeline of work across highways, bridges and rail, we are searching for a Associate Technical Director - Drainage and Flooding to join our NSW Highways team. This person can be based in our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane offices.
**Role accountabilities**:
- Lead the delivery of drainage designs on various projects from small intersection upgrades to complex billion-dollar projects
- Interfacing with clients including presenting solutions, managing deliverables and resolving issues
- Managing the workload, budget and timely delivery for hydraulics and hydrology project teams, in collaboration with Project, Design and commerical managers
- Provide technical design expertise for drainage and water quality systems, including piped networks and major transverse drainage structures
- Coordinate and verify designs with project teams working across multiple offices including our international design hubs
- Embracing a strong digital work environment and delivery culture
- Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design
- Providing practical solutions to challenging technical issues involving compromise and collaboration to resolve in a timely manner
- Representing Arcadis in the hydraulics and hyrology discipline area within the industry
- Driving sustainable design solutions and project outcomes
- Inspiring the team through leading by examples
**Qualifications & Experience**:
First and foremost, you share our passion for improving the quality of life. You pride yourself for the part you play in transforming the world around you and understand the importance of teamwork. You are a technically capable civil or environmental engineer with extensive experience in drainage design for civil infrastructure projects. You will come to us with:
- Experience in providing technical leadership on major projects in the hydraulics and hydrology discipline
- Extensive experience in all facets of the project lifecycle from tendering and concept design through to construction
- Demonstrated self-management; the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of outcomes
- Proven experience working on projects with TfNSW or similar interstate authorities like TMR and VicRoads
- Proven skills with drainage software such as 12D and DRAINS
- The desire to work collaboratively in a high performing team environment
- Hydrology and hydraulic modelling experience using Tuflow will be highly regarded
