**Job Description**:
Due to ongoing growth and some exciting project wins both locally and internationally, AECOM is seeking Associate Director or Technical Director-level Engineering Geologists to join our Ground Engineering and Tunnelling team, in Sydney.

**Job Description**:
You will have a proven track record of involvement with technically complex geotechnical projects. We are looking for a senior team member who is an excellent communicator with strong technical competencies in engineering geology. Your key responsibilities will include:
+ Supporting the growth of the business and team by active involvement in a wide variety of projects and pursuits

+ Overseeing preparation and review of proposals, technical reports, and documentation

+ Providing key technical inputs and guidance to an array of projects, including large-scale geotechnical investigations and the interpretation of ground conditions for major projects

+ Developing and training our team of engineering geologists through a combination of “on the job” training and technical presentations

+ Providing input, peer review and verification of geologically related data, analyses, and design, based on sound technical understanding and experience

+ Providing advice to our partners during all stages of the project life cycle including site-selection and optioneering, design and construction

+ Working collaboratively with other members of the Ground Engineering and Tunnelling team as well as with members of Transport, Water, Power and Buildings and Places teams, providing inputs to project works and tenders

**Minimum Requirements**:
+ Strong knowledge of engineering geology and geotechnical engineering: including, but not limited to site investigations, slope analysis and remediation design, slope risk assessment, and ground retention

+ Extensive knowledge of ground characterisation in a variety of ground conditions

+ Strong sense of geological risk and ability to communicate those and the ability to identify practicable industry-accepted solutions

+ Working knowledge of geotechnical analysis techniques to be able to manage geotechnical engineers and engineering geology teams

+ In depth knowledge of relevant Australian and international standards

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead and motivate teams

+ Experience in Alliance or Design & Construct projects within a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment, and preferably in the Australian market

+ Valid Australian driving licence

**Qualifications**:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Geology (or equivalent)

+ Post-graduate qualifications (highly valued)

+ Chartered Geologist or Chartered Professional Engineer

+ Qualified slope risk assessor by TfNSW (highly valued)
