Project Officer / Program & Project Delivery Team / Project Support / Transport Industry / Contract Role

**Your new company**
Hays Technology in Geelong are currently partnered with a state government organization located in Wendouree, Victoria. We are seeking to appoint **Project Officer on a 12-month contract role with a view of extension. This will be an onsite role**.

**Your new role**
Reporting to Project Manager and working in the Program and Project Delivery teams. You will be responsible for report collation, external service requisitions, processing of purchase orders & invoices and general administration tasks as required, as well as using critical thinking and initiative to identify problems and develop solutions.

**Key accountabilities**:

- Administration tasks such as documents management, data entry and sorting, reporting and preparing/updating various Bill of Materials documents
- Managing purchase orders from RFQ to PO, including the processing of invoices
- Ensuring that codes, standards, and procurement policies/procedures are followed
- Coordinating signalling project materials to ensure items are received within specified timeframes and assisting with reviewing relevant stock levels
- Inventory support including counting stock, inventory accuracy checks and reporting
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Organizing travel and accommodation for staff training/working at other locations
- Event coordination including arranging catering
- Assisting Managers with inductions & onboarding requirements for new employees
- Coordinating vehicle requirements including hire cars, plant, and fleet vehicles
- Providing support with timesheets
- Completing other administrative/coordination-based tasks as required
- Other duties as and when required.

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be considered for this role, you will have:

- Tertiary qualification or certification in Business / Office Administration and/ or experience providing administrative and coordination-based support within a team environment
- Demonstrated experience working in the similar role ideally in a similar industry or environment
- Experience within a projects-based environment is highly desirable
- Relevant administration experience within Rail or Construction industry is highly desirable
- Due to nature of our client, for this role you must be Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
