**About the role**

As the Project Officer you will be responsible for coordinating impact assessments, developing recovery and reopening plans, working closely with the Western Victoria Recovery team and regional staff to coordinate and manage works delivery (i.e. hazardous tree management, roading works, other duties as directed) including procurement and quality assurance.

You will assist in works that are to be delivered as part of a defined project with tied or recurrent specific funding to that project. As the project is time-bound and requires a clear focus on delivery timeframes and successful project management, the Project Officer is required to perform a variety of tasks and work in all phases of a project, from the beginning stages to completion under direction. As the Project Officer you must have a sound understanding of project management and of the goals of the work and prioritise the work. The Project Officer reports directly to the Regional Recovery Co-ordinator - West.

**About Parks Victoria OR About the Team**

The Operations Division with Parks Victoria is responsible for delivery of Parks Victoria's core land management initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. The Regional resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action Plan and the requirements of the Division's state-wide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.

**We're looking for someone with**:

- Project management experience
- Good communication skills and an ability to collaborate with others to achieve delivery goals
- Experience with procurement processes and managing safe field based operations
