This newly created role is a full-time position based at their Head Office in Rose Park.

**Your new role**

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, the Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing comprehensive safety programs, with a primary focus on electrical safety expertise, regulations, and audits. This role involves ensuring compliance with applicable safety standards, promoting a culture of safety awareness, and mitigating risks associated with electrical systems and equipment. The Safety Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct audits and inspections, and provide training and guidance to employees to maintain a safe working environment.

**Day to day duties will include but not limited to**:

- Conduct regular audits and inspections on sites, equipment, and processes to identify potential safety / risk hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective safety programs, policies, and procedures with a specific focus on electrical safety.
- Deliver engaging safety training sessions and workshops to educate employees on electrical safety protocols, hazards, and best practices.
- Foster a safety-conscious culture by promoting awareness, providing guidance, and recognizing and rewarding safe behaviours.
- Maintain accurate records of audits and corrective actions and safety-related documentation.
- Utilise your deep expertise in safety principles, codes, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and minimise risks.
- Stay abreast of the latest industry regulations, trends, and advancements in electrical safety to provide up-to-date guidance and recommendations.

**What you'll need to succeed**

We are seeking a Safety specialist preferably with sector expertise with the energy, utilities, trade, construction setting.

You will have an in-depth knowledge of electrical safety standards, codes, regulations and industry best practices and a track record on conducting safety audits, inspections, WHSE policy, process and compliance.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with employees, management, and regulatory bodies along with strong working knowledge of quality and safety management principles, e.g., IMO-ISM, SA4801 or OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 (preferable).

Formal qualifications in a Work Health and Safety or equivalent industry is desirable whilst a White Card and current drivers’ licence is mandatory.
