About the role

Join AGL as a Category Manager for our Retail & Corporate Business Units. As a key member of AGL’s Strategic Procurement Team, you will be responsible for developing and leading procurement activities for our Retail & Corporate business units, with an annual addressable spend exceeding $500 million. In this dynamic role, you will lead the execution of category strategies to ensure best value sourcing outcomes and alignment with AGL’s strategic objectives.

What you’ll be doing
- Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver best-in-class sourcing strategies that drive value while ensuring compliance with AGL’s policies.
- Source to Contract Strategy: Lead sourcing activities, optimise commercial outcomes, and manage risks related to external spend. Leverage procurement tools like Ariba to ensure efficient sourcing processes.
- Strategic Supplier & Contract Management: Develop and execute category plans to manage key spend areas and improve supplier contract performance.
- Transformation & Change: Support the implementation of AGL’s Retail Transformation Program, contributing to AGL’s goal of becoming a nimble, multi-service retailer
- Diversity & Innovation: Drive supplier development, innovation, and social procurement initiatives in support of diversity and indigenous procurement.

About you

What you’ll bring to the table
- Proven experience in procurement or commercial roles, with a background in large, complex and/or regulated corporates.
- Proven expertise in developing category and sourcing strategies, and delivering successful commercial outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and manage complex supplier relationships.
- Experience in managing commercial and contractual risks and achieving cost reduction targets.
- Knowledge of procurement systems such as Ariba is highly desirable.
- Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Business, Commerce, or Law are preferred.
