**About the team**:
Coles Express has recently been acquired by Viva Energy Retail, Australia’s largest single branded convenience and retail network.

Viva Energy Retail is a mobility and convenience division of Viva Energy Australia with a high-quality national network of fuel and convenience stores located in metro, regional and on main transport routes, and provides an advantaged position to serve the on-road and local suburban convenience markets.

We currently have an opportunity for Category Manager - Food-to-Go, to join the Viva Retail Merchandise team. You will have full accountability of the P&L of one of our biggest portfolio’s of products across the business and will develop a winning category strategy to implement across our stores.

**About the role**:
You will need the ability to build strong internal and external relationships and be able to optimise your operation to drive improved sales and profit outcomes. This role will require you to work end-to-end; set a high-level strategy and engage with our store network to drive excellent execution of your plan.

Utilising your strategic skills, you will identify growth opportunities within your category and partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver a point of difference for our customer base and increase our share within the market.

You'll also:

- Deliver the best offer for customers making Viva Energy Retail (VER) the number 1 convenience retailer in the market.
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Pricing, Trade Planning, eCommerce and Range & Space teams to deliver the best customer proposition and commercial returns for Viva Energy Retail
- Manage supplier negotiations, joint business planning and management of supplier income streams.
- Drive the promotional and loyalty programs through the product and services offer
- Build strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, using your negotiation and influencing skills to drive the direction of the category
- Accountable for instore trials of transformative product innovation projects for the category

**About you and your skills**:
You will have demonstrated Category Management and/or Merchandise experience within a retail or FMCG environment.

You’ll also have:

- Outstanding influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to operate in a dynamic, customer-driven retail environment
- Proven ability to champion and drive change through engaging with senior leadership
- Strong financial acumen within a highly commercial environment.
