**About the team**:
Coles Express has recently been acquired by Viva Energy Retail, Australia’s largest single branded convenience and retail network.

Viva Energy Retail is a mobility and convenience division of Viva Energy Australia with a high-quality national network of fuel and convenience stores located in metro, regional and on main transport routes, and provides an advantaged position to serve the on-road and local suburban convenience markets.

We currently have an opportunity for Category Manager -Projects, to join the Viva Retail Merchandise team.

**About the role**:
The Category Manager (Projects) will have the responsibility of delivering Range Transformation projects for ~690 Coles Express and Reddy Express sites. *Please note: this is a part-time (4 days per week) 12 month fixed-term contract.

This transformation will include:

- Analysis and identification of opportunities to modernise range and meet our identified customer missions
- An analysis of competitors in Australia and overseas markets to see trends and identify points of difference for Reddy stores.
- The creation of an offer to attract new customer segments (eg: travellers, multiple generations, lifestyle and dietary choices, meal options for families etc)
- Identification of new supply partners and differentiated product ranges
- Working collaboratively with Coles Wholesale Services, Supplier Partners and Viva teams to manage the range transformation project
- Establishing a trading plan
- Presenting updates and final outcomes of the project to the Leadership team

***About you and your skills**:
You will have demonstrated Category Management and/or Merchandise experience within a retail or FMCG environment, including the delivery of key range and merchandise projects.

You’ll also have:

- Outstanding influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to operate in a dynamic, customer-driven retail environment
- Able to deliver a clear and actionable project outcome aligned to the Convenience Customer Value Proposition
- Proven ability to champion and drive change through engaging with senior leadership
- Able to digest, analyse and find insights in data.
- Strong financial acumen within a highly commercial environment.
- Understands the supply chain and limitations of a small store network
