**The Role**
The Directorate of Transition Service Delivery within the Joint Transition Authority is seeking an experienced Learning and Development Officer to join our National Team. In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing engaging and interactive learning, with a focus on e-learning, for our geographically dispersed team.

The APS 6 Learning and Development Officer is accountable, under limited direction, to perform and achieve complex learning and development work within the Joint Transition Authority’s integrated workforce. You will be accountable to ensure you have knowledge of, and compliance with, legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements, particularly the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL). This includes ensuring that all e-learning content is accessible and meets industry standards for usability and design. The APS 6 Learning and Development Officer will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes. You will provide detailed learning and development technical and professional advice in relation to research, assurance activities, data and external recommendations that will shape learning content. The APS 6 Learning and Development Officer will have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement and liaison in relation to complex issues that influence design and development for content that meets the needs of our learners.

The APS 6 Learning and Development Officer will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve outcomes. You will be accountable to contribute to your own ongoing self-improvement and professional development, including staying up to date with the latest learning trends and best practices.

**About our Team**
The Joint Transition Authority exists to ensure that ADF personnel and their families are prepared and supported through all stages of transition, during service, and afterward. The Directorate of Transition Service Delivery, within the Joint Transition Authority, has a presence across major military establishments nationally. The APS 6 Learning and Development Officer is based in the National Office, Canberra. Transition Service Delivery is responsible for the implementation of programs and services to transitioning ADF members, this includes:

- Actions to support the six priority areas of the Veteran Transition Strategy, to support positive transition outcomes for ADF members and families
- Individual transition support to members and families, to develop a transition plan inclusive of transition goals, activities and any other individual needs
- Supporting ADF members and their families plan and prepare early for transition, including facilitating access to employment, education and meaningful engagement through the Defence Force Transition Program.

The Joint Transition Authority is implementing an operating model that ensures process singularity and consistent transition service delivery to all members, regardless of Service.
- Have relevant qualifications, or significant experience, in all facets of the ADDIE model of instructional design
- Have experience in, or can demonstrate ability to learn, e-learning design and development
- Have experience in, or can demonstrate ability to learn, learning management system (LMS) features
- Have experience in research translation to achieve business outcomes through data driven learning solutions
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills
