
Administration Officer

Carry out and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the Blue Mountains Cultural
Centre and associated services. This position assists the Director with the administration
of human resources, grants, contractors and Council administrative processes.

**Key Internal Relationships**:Arts and Cultural Services staff, finance and
strategic finance teams.
**Key External Relationships**:Contractors, debtors, suppliers
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to help Council deliver its sustainability goals.
- Ensure administrative systems are maintained to support the Cultural Centre’s
activities and tasks are organized and conducted efficiently and cost effectively.
- Monitor and accurately maintain the Centre’s financial accounts and purchasing
activities.
- Support the overall efficient administration of the Cultural Centre’s operations
- Ensure clear communication between the Cultural Centre, Blue Mountains City
Council, our agents and clients.

**Workplace Health & Safety**
Ensure compliance with WHS obligations and responsibilities as outlined in Councils
policies and procedures and under the relevant WHS legislation. These include but are
not limited to identifying potentially unsafe situations or work practices and notifying your
Supervisor or Manager (or the Health, Safety Manager/Area Safety Representative);
never performing a task that you believe is dangerous or for which you do not have the
experience, or have not received appropriate instructions and training or where the correct
equipment to carry out the task safely is not available; always work in a safe manner and
in accordance with safety instructions, where applicable; use the work equipment supplied
for the job, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions), and any personal
protective equipment, which the Council deems necessary and has provided; be safety
aware and report any actions to your line manager which will assist the Council to meet
its legal workplace health and safety obligations.
You have the right to cease or direct cessation of unsafe work. In addition you are required
at all times to comply with Councils Asbestos Management Plan and Policy.
**COMMUNICATION
- This job requires written communication skills which enable the job holder to write
standard correspondence (memos, letters etc) following prescribed formats.
- The jobholder is required to provide information to customers and assist with routine
service problems and should recognise when a problem is 'too delicate' or 'volatile' to
be handled by self and refer to others.
- Required to provide service to internal customers as a regular part of the job. Service
includes answering queries, providing documentation, sourcing advice and referring
queries to appropriate personnel.
- Responsible for frequent coordination of and communication with other workers to gain
cooperation for work production or service quality.
- This job requires communication skills which enable the job holder to perform the
