A leading and crucial state government organisation in Mount Isa, QLDis seeking an IT Manager to manage the organisations IT support capability’s (including technical team) and to act as the liaison between this department and the rest of the business across the Central QLD region

**Your new role**
Being within the diverse IT Leadership Team, your new role will have a multitude of duties and responsibilities which cover many different aspects of not just IT but also project, people, budget and business management across Central QLD (to be based from their Mount Isa HQ).

Reporting directly to this regions Digital Team Manager and liaising with other senior members of the organization (i.e. other region’s IT Managers, internal department heads, senior stakeholders, etc) you will lead this organizations IT support functionality across the region.

Being in a management role, you will not be performing hands on technical support. Instead (and more specifically), you will identify each of the other departments long-term IT needs and develop strategies to meet these. By leading and managing this organizations Central QLD IT Support function, you will be enabling the wider organization to achieve and meet its technical and business goals (whether that be by improving productivity, increasing access to IT services, identifying wider IT issues before they arise, decreasing costs or any other myriad of uses technology has across the business).

Whilst liaising with others at your hierarchical level (and above) you will lead and manage a geographically dispersed multi-disciplinary team of five IT Support Engineers spread throughout Central QLD and will act as the liaison between them and the other business units.

This team are there for you to use to the best of their abilities to ensure that the organizations high IS&T and ITIL standards are successfully met (which are set out by both by the local and state wide IT heads respectively) and that the Central QLD branch of this government organization is not only thriving from a technical perspective but is leading the way for other regions to follow.

Although your geographical remit will be wide, you will work from the Mount Isa HQ (with occasional travel required as and when) which will see you interact with many departments/stakeholders to be able to identify and deliver substantial benefits from a leadership and overall technical perspective.

An insight into some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role are as follows:

- Liaise with business unit leaders to identify technology needs and requirements
- Conduct senior personnel reviews and management meetings
- Establish a culture of growth and collaboration
- Conduct reviews and attend meetings for proposed IT infrastructure changes
- Coordinate with regional and state-wide technology leaders across the organization
