**The Role**
The Defence Digital Group’s (DDG) Commercial Branch is seeking talented and motivated individuals at the APS 6 level with the drive, integrity and passion to support a range of commercial activities across DDG. The scope of the roles includes:

- Providing dedicated and direct support for large ICT Program/s of work in Australia;
- Providing commercial assurance and advice for procurements and contract management within the ICT Program;
- Coordination with Defence projects and other stakeholders to ensure rapid transition to acquisition for capabilities within the ICT Program;
- Procurement of ICT support services and other enabling agreements;
- Engaging specialist advice from within and outside Defence, including price and cost analysis, probity advice and legal services, as required.

This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. The Branch is seeking skilled, experienced and dedicated commercial, contracting and procurement professionals who enjoy supporting challenging and highly complex commercial activities, and who possess:

- A thorough understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Framework, procedures and compliance obligations to provide guidance to business areas within DDG;
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills to interpret, make recommendations and provide advice on complex commercial issues, ensuring compliance with legal principles, legislation, policies and procedures, and commercial risk and performance frameworks;
- A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to deliver procurement related documentation including correspondence, reports, plans, strategies, performance reviews, approaches to market, contracts and contract change proposals, and other commercial documentation;
- An ability to build relationships, engage and negotiate with clients and stakeholders and respond to complex enquiries and contract management issues, taking the initiative to identify and proceed with appropriate courses of action;
- Flexibility and adaptability and a willingness to lead change initiatives and challenge traditional ways of doing business;
- Trustworthiness and integrity at the highest level; and
- An ability to grow and lead teams, managing self-improvement and professional development as well as the professional development of your team members.
