**About the role**
In this exciting planning coordinator position, you will be responsible for coordinating the operations of our IMEX business both focusing on our customers and ensuring the planning, scheduling, and execution of the train services, associated assets, labour and maintenance planning run according to plans and customers’ expectations. This position has a strong focus on engaging and building solid relationships with our internal stakeholders as well as our customers, you will achieve this by collaborating with our stakeholders to maintainer consistency with asset and labour plans.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Effectively plan train services including maintenance events and activities according to client requirements and plan in place. This includes access confirmation, maintaining and improving achievability, including managing complimentary tasks such as shunting, maintenance activities, provisioning, etc.
- Trouble shoot clients issues. Openly communicate with all involved in movement of Customers Containers
- Act as a point of contact regarding movement of all containers
- Coordinate receival windows and train/container scheduling to meet cut offs
- Coordinate short to medium term planning for train services, critical assets, and labour to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
- Act as an interface and engage with relevant port authorities
- Coordinate customer activities
- Review the effective utilisation and optimisation of assets
- Ensure compliance with asset deployment and maintenance plans
- Assist with managing the requirements for rail possession planning, ensuring customer plan is organised correctly and customers have full understanding of impact
- Any additional tasks as required to successful perform the role
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will be expected to demonstrate strong problem solving abilities, along with innovative and creative thinking You will be able to demonstrate relationship management strengths and agility to be able to respond to and amend plans as changes occur.
In addition:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant business discipline or relevant experience.
- Experience in rail or other heavy transport industries, including specialist or technical knowledge of transport, logistics planning and operations
- Strong problem-solving capability
- Ability to lead through others using a collaborative approach
- Ability to continuously improve systems, process and human factors
