**This opportunity**
To plan and coordinate the release of project and change requests into the production environment with the aim of protecting Operational SLA’s & the Care & Retail system availability. This role will provide the opportunity to be part of the Technology Operations team and work with the BSS & BI teams within VHA, contributing to the development, maintenance and management of the release management criteria plan.
**Responsibilities**
- This is a leadership role responsible for developing and implementing plans aligned to the functional strategy as set by your manager across the different verticals. This will include aligning strategic direction for the areas of expertise you are responsible for
- You play an important role in implementing the strategy to design and build NPE environments in AWS
- Be involved in project planning; problem solving and project management decisions
- You will lead the design, implementation, monitoring and improvement of the delivery and performance of systems, processes and services within your remit, to continuously improve organisational results
- You will be responsible for identifying and leading improvement opportunities within the team, as well as ensuring appropriate controls are in place to manage risks, including the protection of TPG systems and information.
- You will be responsible for review, analysis, deploy & testing of code written by the project teams
- You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and managing the overall release management criteria and plan
- Ensure regular review of project statuses to enable planning of a continually evolving delivery roadmap making sure that inter-project dependencies are well understood by all participants
- Balance production stability with the need to plan and managed the deployment of Capex activities
- Assess and approve the quality of migration readiness in conjunction with the respective process, code Quality and testing signoffs
- Ensure that operations staff handovers have been successfully completed according to the Operations checklist & prior to release
- Communicate across the team and with the business release management schedule.
- Liaise with 3rd party vendors, Technology teams & Operations for issue resolution and upgrade planning
- You will be responsible for day-to-day activities for managing the Release Planning in coordination with non-production teams
- You will be responsible for handover of the code from non-production environments to Production
**Knowledge and experience**
- Expertise in DevOps & CD/CI
- Knowledge of DevOps Tools
- Understanding of AWS/cloud environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Substantial years of DevOps & Release Management experience
- Project management certifications are advantageous
- Ability to coordinate multiple teams to ensure tasks are completed in time with the release schedule
- Leadership and analytical skills
- Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal
- Problem-solving & team collaboration skills
