**About the role**
Mater is currently looking for Patient Facilitation Services Liaison Officer to join the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane Administration team. This is a permanent, full-time position based at South Brisbane.
In this role you will supervise and manage Patient Facilitation Services team, to ensure key performance indicators are met for service delivery, and to contribute to admissions improvement processes in the designated work area.
**Salary range: $43.31 - $47.71 (Mater Corporate Admin Level 4) per hour plus superannuation**
**What you’ll be doing**
- Provide exceptional operational coordination requirements associated with the Customers business requirements in a timely, seamless manner via various communication mediums to enable the provision of:
- appropriate rapid access to key personnel for review of referrals, clinical assessment and/or advice including (as necessary) direct care services
- Ensure referrals timelines for Total Episode of Care (TEC) are met
- Monitor the patients’ progress from point of referral, throughout TEC and outpatient care. Record patient milestones and report accordingly
- Ensure reporting requirements to the customer are met and adhere to timeframes allocated to each clinical scenario that applies
- Problem solving input to ensure a streamline process for customer, key personnel and patient
- Identify as a result of day to day operations any processes that may benefit from the services offered by the Mater Patient Facilitation Service.
- Ensure the timely and accurate recording, approval and facilitating of patient reporting is captured. Liaise with the appropriate departments within Mater and monitor progress to ensure timely closure of patient milestones in accordance with established contract requirements.
- Arrange access, documentation and paperwork associated with all clients of PFS including:
- Assist all parties with Patient information exchange documentation flow (whilst adhering to established Privacy Standards);
- Assist the patient with appropriate follow up appointments as directed by the Key Personnel’s clinical pathways and as approved by the Customer.
- Providing Patient Estimates/Self insured rates for International Patients. Works closely with Mater Private Inpatient Finance Team
- Assist in the provision of interpreters if and when required
- Ensure staff hours incurred to operate the team is in accordance with the budgeted hours provided by the Administration Manager
- Manage sick leave notifications and replacement shifts.
- Facilitate department reports by accurately checking daily labour hours and rosters
- Providing effective, accurate and timely communications with staff and clients, communicating with sensitivity and discretion
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will possess strong leadership skills as well as:
- Previous administration experience within a healthcare environment and experience using medical terminology, SCAN
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly accurate data entry skills
- High level computer skills and the knowledge of or the ability to efficiently learn hospital computer database programs
- Excellent time management to ensure deadlines are met and the ability to work under pressure
- Demonstrated customer service skills at a high level
- Ability to manage and lead a team
- A willingness to learn, develop and grow
