**JOB PURPOSE**

L3Harris develops and provides next generation communication technology for Defence customers across the world. The purpose of this role is to lead systems engineering activities involved in all phases of creating and delivering new systems for defence related projects.

**SCOPE**

To lead an Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) assigned to defence related projects, provide Systems Engineering services as defined by Key Responsibilities for the identification, creation and delivery of systems.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assist project teams as required within a technical capacity to develop Request For Tender (RFT) responses.
- Development of Basis of Estimates for the Systems Engineering discipline for new projects.
- Perform Cost Account Manager (CAM) function for Systems Engineering discipline of an executed project.
- Plan and execute identified Systems Engineering activities required for an executed project.
- Interface with the L3HCA Chief Engineer to report achievements, status, issues and risk for an executed project.
- Communicate with the external customer providing a technical interface point for the project.
- Development, review and approval of Defence Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) items as required.
- Organise and contribute to the conduct of Systems Engineering Reviews, technical workshops and meetings with the customer.

**EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATION**

**Essential**
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering - Electrical/Electronic, Systems Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 8+ Systems Engineering experience in the Defence Industry with a demonstrated focus in requirements development and/or systems design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple functions in support of projects.
- Current Australian Security Clearance or ability to obtain.

**Desirable**
- Experience in design of IP networks, RF antenna systems, two-way radio systems, microwave systems, wireless data systems, data networking, as well as system configuration.
- Knowledge of HF, VHF, UHF and SATCOM Systems.
- Previous engineering management or technical lead experience on complex systems or program.
- Experience with mobile networking within a tactical environment and tactical data messaging.
- Knowledge of secure voice and data systems including an understanding of cryptographic equipment.
- Experience with DOORS.
- Experience in System Safety, Cybersecurity or System Verification.
