**Job Title**: - Specialist Systems Engineer

**Job Purpose**:
Responsible for providing Engineering design and support for tactical communications systems, products, and ancillaries for a variety of Australian and International customers across current Acquisition and Support programs, as well as supporting future business growth opportunities.

Your work will include the systems engineering delivery of allocated projects as they progress through the systems engineering lifecycle from bid & proposal to requirements through to sustainment. In addition, this role provides technical analysis and testing of communications systems across the RF Spectrum on a variety of platforms across multiple domains (e.g., soldiers, ships, vehicles, aircraft, space). Your work will encompass technical investigation, product change, modification, or improvement, support, and disposal of L3Harris products and systems to maintain compliance with regulatory frameworks, contractual obligations and customer requirements.

L3Harris is looking for someone who:

- Is an experienced professional with proficient knowledge of systems engineering and communications systems, as well as practical knowledge of project management.
- Can manage small projects or processes with general supervision.
- Communicates with contacts inside and outside of engineering function to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
- Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
- Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on business results.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop tailored solutions based on customer requirements/constraints.
- Provide Technical advice to internal and external stakeholders with respect to Requests for Information (RFIs) of the products supported by L3Harris.
- Provide Technical assessment to any provided Technical Information from OEM or other sources that may affect in fit, form or function of the products supported.
- White paper and technical issue reporting for L3Harris systems and products.
- Ability to construct technical arguments in support of verification of products/systems to customers.
- Ability to break down systems into components to resolve integration issues.
- Fault finding and supporting the field service team on customer integration and system diagnosis.
- Conduct tasks as allocated through the systems engineering lifecycle of acquisition and sustainment projects and support technical artifacts development such as:

- System Specification, Requirements Management, Engineering Plans
- Interface Control, System Subsystem Design Description
- Acceptance Test Procedures & Reports, Failure Review and Trouble Reporting
- Integration, Test & Evaluation
- Support the configuration management function through engineering change management.
- Tailor and execute engineering process between major programs and minor pursuits.

**Experience & Education Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Examples include Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Systems, Software, Other
- Minimum of 4 years of post graduate engineering experience.
- Experience working in the Defence industry is a preference, though operating within a complex, large international business will also be considered.
- Experience in supporting large scale engineering projects
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Security Clearance (AGSVA NV1).
