About the role
This position provides advanced clinical knowledge and skills to deliver specialist contemporary, evidence based Social Work services and leadership as a member of the multidisciplinary team, to consumers of the Chermside Community Mental Health Team, their families/carers, and external stakeholders to optimise psychosocial outcomes and to facilitate recovery from mental illness.
This position also leads a MNMH service improvement portfolio, focussed on building the capability of MNMH to respond to Child Protection needs within our service.

In terms of technical knowledge, skills and experience and within the context of the responsibilities described above under Key Accountabilities, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

- Demonstrated specialist level of knowledge, expertise and skill in mental health, child protection and social work assessments, formulation, and interventions, with an understanding of the principles, processes and environments that support recovery and an ability to work within Recovery and Trauma Informed frameworks, with complex consumers in a community mental health setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively in a multi-disciplinary team and communicate effectively using well developed oral and written communication skills to enable effective interaction with consumers, carers, and other stakeholders in individual and group situations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead service change in a specialist area through quality and service improvement activities, offer direction and support to managers and the multidisciplinary team and provide clinical supervision to less experienced practitioners and students.
