The position of Social Procurement Specialist forms a part of the Investment and Procurement branch within the Corporate Services group.
**The Group**
The Corporate Services Group actively supports Ministers and DJPR portfolio groups to create the conditions for sustainable economic development and employment growth.
**The Branch**
Investment and Procurement Branch provides strategic advice and professional services to the business and our Ministers, creating value by improving performance and sustainability across the DJPR portfolios in line with its objectives.
We promote integrity and ensure policies, processes and systems align with the principles of professional standards and codes of good practice. To fulfil our role in ensuring Victoria's strong economic performance by growing industries and regions, it is imperative we are deeply networked, service-orientated and highly collaborative.
**The Role**
The Social Procurement Specialist, reporting to the Manager Policy and Change, is responsible for driving the social procurement reform within the Department of Jobs, Precincts, and Regions by identifying and developing opportunities for maximum social impact to deliver benefits under the Social Procurement Framework.
The Social Procurement Specialist will deliver inclusive social change through procurement. A hands-on role, the position will also work closely with a broad range of stakeholders across the department to drive tangible change in the Department in relation to social procurement uptake. The Social Procurement Specialist will equip and empower staff to achieve the Department's desired social procurement outcomes, ensuring DJPR's significant procurement expenditure is targeting social benefit suppliers whenever possible and appropriate. This goal is aligned with DJPR's overarching strategic objectives of creating more jobs for more people, creating thriving places and regions and building inclusive communities.
The successful applicant will be passionate about implementing social procurement initiatives and will be confident in establishing, building, and maintaining positive working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. This will include internal stakeholders within DJPR as well as external stakeholders, such as senior leaders and representatives of social benefit suppliers and industry groups. The Social Procurement Specialist will act as a pivotal point of contact with internal and external stakeholders to ensure positive social procurement outcomes for the Department and will also be skilled at developing and delivering audience-appropriate training and communications to various audiences, both large and small.
**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will need demonstrated project management experience and well-developed leadership, communication and influencing skills. The Social Procurement Specialist must be comfortable establishing new work plans and processes and have a strong understanding of Victorian Government economic and social policy processes. Experience with data analysis and reporting in relation to the Victorian Government Social Procurement Framework would also be beneficial.
