An opportunity exists for a permanent part-time Patient Liaison Officer to join the existing PLO team in Revenue Services (9 day fortnight) at Western Health. This role requires extensive communication with patients, family, carers and hospital staff, the primary role of the PLO is to determine the correct patient classification (including Medicare ineligible patients), obtain patient information such as patient health insurance fund details. The PLO role will be responsible for the revenue recovery of Medicare Ineligible patients; this role actively promotes patients to pay upfront for their hospital journey in a timely manner in order to satisfy revenue department requirements. This position contributes significantly to increasing revenue for the organisation.
