**Location**: Adelaide CBD

We are seeking a highly skilled **Risk Management Officer (ASO6)** to join a key government agency on an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring that the organization meets its governance, audit, and compliance obligations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop a new risk register and align it with KPMG's draft register.
- Implement and monitor a new risk management framework and internal audit plan.
- Develop policies and procedures related to internal auditing and risk management.
- Provide expert advice on governance, risk, and compliance matters across the organization.
- Support the Audit and Risk Committee with reporting and guidance.
- Lead the development of the agency's Risk Appetite Statement and Risk Strategy.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- **Desirable**: Tertiary qualifications in Risk Management or a related field, or substantial relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in risk management, internal audit, and governance functions within a complex legislative environment.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, including data gathering, analysis, and presenting recommendations.
- Experience supporting committees and reporting to senior management.
