**Position Overview**: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented **Accounts Officer** to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, including invoicing, payment processing, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with financial and taxation requirements.

**Job description**:
Accounting and Financial Management
- Manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Process and verify all supplier invoices and customer billing using MYOB accounting software.
- Arrange and prepare weekly payment runs, ensuring all payments are properly authorised.
- Conduct bank reconciliations, petty cash reconciliation, and monitor cash flow.
- Record all financial transactions and ensure proper documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Prepare and maintain accurate internal accounting records for ATO reporting, including BAS, PAYG, and superannuation.
- Work with external accountants on periodic lodgements, financial statements, and compliance matters.

Payroll Support
- Process weekly payroll based on timesheets prepared by the HR department.
- Ensure payroll accuracy, handle basic employee queries, and maintain payroll records in compliance with Fair Work and taxation requirements.

Administration and Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date files for invoices, purchase orders, and financial records.
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and company policies.
- Manage correspondence with suppliers, customers, and financial institutions.
- Support procurement by verifying purchase orders and ensuring timely supplier payments.

General Support
- Provide administrative assistance to management, including scheduling, documentation, and office coordination.
- Assist with preparing reports or evidence for audits, insurance renewals, and compliance reviews.
- Support other administrative or operational tasks when requested to ensure smooth business operations.

**Qualification and experience**:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles.
- Strong working knowledge of MYOB or similar accounting software.
- Experience in bank reconciliation, invoicing, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with ATO lodgement processes (BAS, PAYG, STP) and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
