Take the next step in your career in this position as Manager Technical Services, leading the Building and Plumbing technical teams at the VBA.
We have an exciting ongoing position as the Manager Technical Services to lead the Technical and Regulation Building and Plumbing technical teams within the Office of the State Building Surveyor.
The role will oversee the provision of practitioner support, technical advice and approval services, and contribute to the development of the regulatory framework.
This includes staying abreast of legislative, social, regulatory and technical changes and liaising with a wide range of stakeholders.
**Who we are looking for**:
- Current and detailed knowledge of the building and/or plumbing industry, regulatory framework of current codes, regulations and standards in Victoria or another Australian jurisdiction would be a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated experience working in a legislative or regulatory environment and/or in a relevant industry profession, and understanding of the workings of Government administrative processes.
- Substantial experience in managing teams and coordinating projects and resources including associated budgets and developing the capability of the team through ongoing performance planning and management, coaching, feedback and participation in development objectives.
- Strong stakeholder relationship skills and the ability to understand stakeholder requirements and develop innovative solutions to issues and to negotiate strategic outcomes.
- Registration as a building practitioner, such as a building surveyor, domestic or commercial builder, draftsperson, or engineer or architect would be highly regarded.
