Technical Services Manager

Full-Time, Melbourne

The Technical Services Manager is responsible for the leadership, day to day management and resourcing of the technical services team. The role is accountable for ensuring best practice delivery of cardiac testing procedures for Cardiology Victoria patients whilst at the same time ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

What you’ll do:

- Provide leadership, direction and day to day management of the technical services team including recruitment, orientation, performance appraisal and management of Specialist Cardiac Physiologists, and Cardiac Physiologist in conjunction with the Lead Cardiac Physiologists, in accordance with contemporary human resource management practices and maintaining a Duty of Care for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
- Finalise and implement monthly rosters and schedules, ensuring on a daily basis that staff are available to meet resourcing requirements and resolve resourcing issues or conflicts and develop and maintain an up to date 12-month workforce plan to ensure the availability of resources at all times.
- Manage the monthly cardiac physiologist roster in collaboration with Practice Managers for sign off by the General Manager, ensuring that leave provisions have been considered.
- Develop the capability of the cardiac physiology team by supporting and facilitating ongoing training, skills development, education and professional development, and succession planning strategies.
- Monitor and report on the viability of all clinic operations to ensure the effective and efficient utilisation at all times of human resources.
- Contribute to and provide input into efficiency improvement strategies including agreed diary and roster improvements for cardiac physiologists.
- Report on the capacity to meet and comply with relevant clinical quality standards through the regular monitoring. analysis and review of systems, processes, procedures, workflows and workloads and recommend improvements and enhancements.
- Identification, management and reporting of risks identified through the prompt and effective management of service complaints and incidents.
- Liaise regularly with the NIWG (Non invasive working group) Chair, attend and positively contribute to NIWG and CMC (Clinical Management Committee) meetings as required with a view to continuously improving the delivery of technical testing services and maintaining productive working relationships with specialist doctors.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in the field of cardiology testing processes and procedures and raise the profile of Cardiology Victoria by developing and maintaining key industry networks, undertaking relevant and approved research and presenting conference papers.

Who you are:

- A proven leader with experience managing and developing teams
- The ability to work under pressure and respond to fluctuating workflow and internal / external demands
- Min 5 Years experience in a Senior Cardiac Sonographer position
- Undergraduate tertiary qualifications in Applied Science or equivalent
- Post Graduate Cardiac Ultrasound qualifications
- Drivers license and car are essential, as the ability to travel between sites is an important part of the role.
