Two exciting permanent opportunities exist to join the Finance Division, Queensland Police Service (QPS) and be part of the transformation to enhance fiscal sustainability across QPS.
As a Manager, Budget Management you will work as part of the senior management team as well as leading a team of finance professionals who support QPS business areas. The teams are responsible for preparing annual budget allocations and monthly financial performance reports and providing strategic financial management advice to stakeholders.
Your part in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of tasks with a strong focus on management accounting, including collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
**The core capability requirements for this role are**:
- Manage the development and of the annual operating and capital budgets for QPS business areas, incorporating government and organisational decisions to support the delivery of strategic planning and budgeting for the organisation.
- Provide strategic advice to senior management relating to financial management reporting and systems, processes and procedures to assist corporate Finance Division and business areas with the delivery of community safety outcomes.
- Lead a team of finance professionals to prepare financial performance reporting at the organisational and business area level, incorporating trend and variance analysis and forecasting insights.
- Lead and implement business improvement initiatives to enhance budget management and fiscal responsibility for the organisation
- Ensure financial management services and initiatives are implemented with strong and genuine engagement of internal and external clients and key stakeholders.
- Foster a working environment that encourages and empowers individual staff to seek challenges, develop skills and achieve results.
**Role Requirements:**:Technical/Operational/Education experience**:
- A tertiary qualification in finance or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
