**Description**:
We are looking for someone with a keen interest in pursuing a career in Quantity Surveying. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be required to work 3 days per week during semester and full time during university breaks. You will work alongside senior staff to assist in varying aspects of the project, including estimating, administration as well as attending site and meetings with clients. Our projects cover a wide range of sectors including health, defence, education and many more. MBM supports and encourages our cadets to develop their careers and move into senior roles within the company once your degree is complete.
**Pre Contract**:
With supervision carryout measurement, calculations and determination of material quantities and pricing of:
- Initial Budgets
- Developmental Cost Plans
- Bills of Quantities
- Pre-Tender Estimates
- Tender Analysis
**Post Contract**:
**With supervision, prepare**:
- Progress claim recommendations
- Valuations and Payments on account
- Cost Reports and cash flows
- Variation valuations
**Meetings**:
- With supervision, attend all meetings with Client and/or project team as required
**Other**:
With supervision, preparation of information for Value Management studies

**Skills and Experiences**:
Currently enrolled in a building or construction related degree
High level verbal and written communication with attention to detail
Have professional attitudes and ability to work independently
Be an Australian Citizen or hold Permanent Residency
Experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products is essential
Eligibility for student membership to a recognised professional institution such as the AIQS or RICS
Ability to maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally
Ability to be self-directed, motivated and demonstrate sound organisational and prioritisation skills
