**About the role**

As a Technical Officer for B&D Garage Doors,** **you will provide technical support for product development engineering in the design and development of new products, components, manufacturing systems and continuous improvement activities.

Reporting to the Product Improvement Engineering Manager, this opportunity will also play a critical role in providing engineering support along with improving the current product range of door and automation products.

**Responsibilities**
- Conduct tests of all B&D Doors, components, systems and of new designs.
- Manage engineering assignments in compliance with relevant business practices, regulations, and standards
- Assess potential designs and/or design modifications and support developing proposals
- Support manufacturing and design activities by producing prototypes for products in development
- Assist with root cause analysis of in-field warranty claims

**Skills & Experience**
- Mechanical engineering or trade qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with the internal teams through all levels
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings
- Experience documenting test results, report writing and designing test rigs
- Computer experience using Microsoft Office Suite, basic drafting and CAD
