The Role
Duties
As the Control Engineer you will assist in developing market-leading commercial pool and hot water heat pump water heating products for sale by Rheem Australia Pty Limited. Responsible for the development of control specifications, control software, controls testing, integration with Energy Management Systems & BMS architectures. Duties include:

  • Engineer controls & software for heat pump systems, including integration with Energy Management Systems
  • Prototype & test new control systems and product concepts
  • Document designs with CAD models, technical specifications, BOMs, and test reports
  • Support production by improving reliability, reducing costs, and enhancing product performance
  • Project manage and collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and EMS providers
  • Comparative testing on competitor products
  • Provide technical advice across departments and represent R&D on project teams

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or relevant work history in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Carel controllers and programming tools or equivalent HVAC controllers
  • Preferred knowledge of Structured Text programming language
  • Experience in electrical design and/or wiring.
  • Experience with various BMS protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
  • Experience with project management in a design & manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a research or product development organisation.
  • Experience in any type of refrigeration technology.
  • Experience working with Australian Standards as a regulatory framework.
