This is a unique opportunity for a technically qualified individual to take on an electrical product safety assessor role within a respected certification body.

The successful candidate will primarily evaluate client documentation against Australian and/or international standards and local regulation for independent certification.

You will work closely with our team of administrators and competent assessors in line with our endorsed accredited scheme. You will report to the certification manager and have contact with clients' in gathering relevant documentation for efficient project delivery.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Review of applications for certification;
  • To take the decision on granting certification when all criteria are met;
  • To ensure that all records of applications including technical information, communication, certificates issued are recorded and kept
  • Maintain confidentiality of the applicant at all times;
  • To read standards and be able to interpret the intent.
  • Understanding and participation in the continual development of the Management System Manual and other procedures and forms;
  • Participation in the industry meetings and standards development (if required);
  • Work to become a representative accredited signatory.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Accuracy and timeliness for the duties assigned;
  • Adhere to the Management System Manual;
  • Documents to be maintained in accordance with set procedures;
  • Records to be maintained in accordance with set procedures. Details are to be complete and accurately made for every certificate issued;
  • Continually participate in training of the latest technical information and improved processes;
  • Actively participate in team and client meetings;
  • Work related communication to the General / Certification Manager is timely, appropriate, open and accurate;
  • Continual improvement of the Management System, and
  • Satisfactorily pass internal and external audits.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree OR Certificate/Diploma level  in electrical or electronics engineering or related field;
  • At least 3 years work experience in product safety;
  • Proven communication and standards knowledge; and
  • Experience in a test laboratory or safety and regulatory compliance is desirable.
