Payroll Officer

Permanent Part time role (Mon to Thurs)
Conveniently based in Parramatta (3 days office based + 1 day WFH)
$67,974.40 base + Super + NFP salary packaging

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Officer to join our close knit and supportive team.

**About the role**:
The Payroll Officer is responsible for assisting the Payroll Manager in the payment of staff salaries and associated payments. This position provides a high level of customer service to all members of Afford and external stakeholders by investigating, resolving and responding to enquiries on payments, superannuation, leave issues and other related payroll matters.
- Ensuring employees are paid timely and accurately.
- Ensuring payroll enquiries are dealt with swiftly.
- Ensuring a high level of client satisfaction is achieved.
- Building strong relationships with other roles in head office and in operations,
- Ensuring payroll compliance, ensuring all employees are paid in accordance to legislation

awards and internal policies and procedures.
- Ensuring appropriate controls processes are in place through the end to end payroll

processes.
- Working closely with other stakeholders to maintain all associated time and attendance systems.

Prepare, balance and reconcile PAYG tax and assist the Payroll Manager / Finance

department to reconcile FBT, Superannuation and payment summaries.
- Ensuring maintenance of all relevant leave and overtime reports.

**ESSENTIAL CRITERIA**
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Payroll position within a large organisation
- Experience in Provision of Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation.
- Demonstrated experience in processing fortnightly / monthly pay runs
- Experience in month end reporting and fringe benefits knowledge.
- Excel Skills and competency with V-Look ups and Pivot tables
- Relevant qualification in Business / Accounting / Commerce.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including well developed report

writing, and negotiation skills.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision is highly regarded.
- Desirable to have knowledge of the disability sector or other community service areas

and/or worked in a not for profit
- Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence
- Up to date Covid Vaccinations and willingness to provide vaccination certificate
